Regarding her new role, Rachael says: “I’m excited to get stuck into my first issue of The Journal and very proud to be appointed Editor-Manager of our community paper. I’m interested in hearing about any and all story ideas that locals have about the town and the surrounding areas — I’m sure I’m going to discover lots of new, fascinating things about the community. It’s wonderful to contribute to a project that’s not only an important part of Castle Douglas history but a positive platform for celebrating its present and future.

The Journal will continue being a great outlet to promote and support our part of Galloway, helping pull people together in what has been a very difficult time for everyone.”
