Castle Douglas Development Forum has been delighted to welcome Tracy Walker, Hollie Nelson, and Amanda Burney to their team as the forefront of community fundraising for Castle Douglas’ New Inclusive Play Park.
The new committee is chaired by Tracy Walker, who alongside Hollie Nelson and Amanda Burney, Castle Douglas Development Forum’s Community Engagement Officer, organized a Family Bingo Night as their first fundraiser as a committee for the Inclusive Play Park. This event was a huge success amongst the local community and a wonderful chance for people to enjoy a night out. It was widely supported by local businesses who helped supply the prizes and several volunteers, including Steven Dill who took control of the mic and called the numbers.
After a wonderful night the committee was able to raise a further £425 towards the Play Park project. About the event, the chair of the committee, Tracy Walker said:
“It was a wonderful event that raised a great deal of money towards the play park. We have been delighted by the response and many members of the community who came along have asked that we make it a regular event. It is great to know not only did we raise money, but we have given the community a well-needed night out!”.
The Inclusive Playpark committee is already getting ready to plan and host future events to raise money and give the community more events to enjoy this Christmas.
